TECOS - Slovenian Tool and Die Development Centre
Dr. Hančič holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ljubljana, has worked as a technical assistant in the Laboratory for Forming at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (University of Ljubljana), and acted as assistant professor at the Polymer Technology College in Slovenj Gradec. He also holds a PhD in Technical Science in the field of cellulose reinforced polymers. He is an expert in material forming, biopolymer composites, LCA analysis, FEM simulation, design of parts and so forth, and is looking back at more than 10 years of experience in R&D projects, which includes more than 70 national and international R&D projects. His various academic and practical expertise in the challenging industrial environment of today is of vital importance to TECOS as the leading Slovenian technology centre. One also needs to highlight the important role of dr. Hančič within TECOS on the personal level, since he has been connecting his team of experts and supporting every team member actively and very successfully.
The presentation will focus on a brief overview of what future holds in terms of industrial development and smart production of newly developed products. In this context (not only industry 4.0, but also broader) we will also discuss some obvious and perhaps less evident trends and opportunities in product development of the future from today’s standpoint. Furthermore - this will lead us to various question about democratisation of production: how will the new technologies and their broad availability to basically everyone enable small companies or even individuals to efficiently act like big industrial companies in terms of product development and production. How can all this be available to everyone -and- can this bring more quality into our lives.
