Alessandro Marini is the Cluster Manager of AFIL - Lombardy Intelligent Factory Association.

Master of science in engineering, he has 25-years of experience in the manufacturing industry both as a consultant and as a company manager mainly focusing on production, innovation and industrial control.

After the first years of activity at Andersen Consulting, he moved to the industrial sector as manager of Lucchini Spa. Founder and general manager of Lutech Spa, the company of the Lucchini group dedicated to ICT technologies, he worked for a few years in the telecommunications sector. Since 2007 he has worked as a freelance engineer providing services to Small and Medium Enterprises, with a particular focus on management control, improvement of production processes and technology transfer. Since 2013 he has been a partner of Studio Maruggi, concentrating on the development of the Business Consulting sector.

In the last years, he has been strongly involved in the technology transfer activities, at regional, national and international level, aiming at creating new business opportunities for companies and at involving private and public research institutions in industrial projects.

He is Cluster Manager of the Lombardy Intelligent Factory Association and member of the board of directors of the National Intelligent Factory Cluster.

He is in charge for the strategic development of the cluster with special regards to increase members and create and identify new opportunities for Lombardy advanced manufacturing sector competitiveness development.

Recently he obtained a PhD in Information Engineering at the University of Brescia, with a study on information infrastructures of Cyber Physical System.

 

Short Description of the Keynote Speech

Smart Factories have been one of the trend topics over the last 5 years and number of different models have been envisioned. A huge number of technologies have been proposed to address the major challenges for companies. The presentation will focus on a novel European framework that supports SMEs positioning towards the Advanced Manufacturing challenges and success stories will be introduced.
